Create Repeat Tasks
Drag a task sub-category into the Calendar or the Task List
The Pile > Schedule > Select Course > Drag and Drop a Task Sub-category into the Calendar or the Task List.
A dialogue will appear.
Select ‘Create Repeat Task’
In the dialogue that opens after you drop the task sub-category in, click ‘Create Repeat Task.’
The dialogue will switch.
Select what days the task repeats on
For example you may have a small Quiz in every class on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Set the Time Needed for each task
All tasks in the sequence will use this time estimate. Once you create the tasks, you can change this estimate for each one individually.
Set the date of the first task in the sequence
If you dragged and dropped a task sub-category into the calendar, the date and time will be pre-filled to where you dropped it.
If you dropped it into the Task List, this will be re-filled to ‘now’.
Set when to start each task in the sequence
Enter how many Days Ahead you want to get started on each task before it is due.
This is an important input field for every task in Shovel. Shovel will only calculate your available Study Time for a task during the time you actually plan to study for the task.
For example, it would not make sense to calculate your available Study Time from now until you to take a Quiz a month from now, if you only plan to start studying for it 2 days before the Quiz.
This makes the Cushion realistically accurate.
Enter zero (0) if you only plan to work on the task on the day it is due.
Set when the task stops repeating
Most repeat tasks will stop repeating at the end of classes. Set a custom date if you need to.
A new screen will appear.
Check dates. Fill in the details.
Unselect any dates when the task doesn’t repeat (ex. Midterm exam dates). Holidays will not be checked and will have an umbrella icon next to them.
Fill in details to know what each task is.
Click “Create” and all your tasks will be created at the same time.
